主人公の少年ユウキ・コスモら地球人が移民したソロ星で、第六文明人の遺跡が発掘された。遺跡の文献からフォルモッサ・シェリルが導き出した名を取り、発掘された巨人ロボットはイデオンと呼ばれるようになる。 そのイデオンは、異星人バッフ・クランの伝説でイデの巨神として語り継がれていたものだった。イデ捜索隊隊長のギジェ・ザラルに無断で、カララ・アジバが調査のためにソロ星（ロゴ・ダウ）へ向かう。 コスモ、ジョーダン・ベス、イムホフ・カーシャがイデオンを操縦するが、二つの人類は双方とも相手を異星人と呼び、恐れ、自分の星を守るために異星人を殲滅しようとして戦火を拡大させた。 コスモ達はソロ星を捨て、イデオンの母船ソロシップに乗って宇宙を逃亡する。。Millions of people speak to God.
