At the beginning of 1960s she appeared in Laski near Warsaw, in the Institute for the Blind, where the Primate of Poland, Cardinal Stefan Wys...。以殡葬服务起家的暴发户河村龙太郎（伊东四朗 饰）年事已高，突如其来的疾病更一度将他推向死亡的边缘。虽然侥幸生还，然而三个女儿阳子（余贵美子 饰）、矢幡月子（室井滋 饰）、凛子（板谷由夏 饰）却似乎亟不可待，想要早早分到老爹的遗产。担任龙太郎主治医师的佐藤育生（向井理 饰）恰巧是这个老人最疼爱的孙女河村枫（荣仓奈奈 饰）的男朋友，出身贫寒的他几经周折终于以获准成为河村家的女婿。早已看透了儿女们鬼心思的龙太郎下定决心修改遗嘱，这一次他竟打算把育生的名字写进来。 看起来人畜无害的育生，当他踏入河村家的那一刻起，就注定卷入漫无止境的遗产之争中……。
