Tired of country life, Anna leaves military school and her home to live in exciting Prague where she finds herself confused by the behavior of her hip new friends. She does not realize that Filip is gay and involved with his roommate Kytka...。以二十世纪四十年代末到八十年代初期为历史背景，讲述长江沿岸临江发电厂两代人的命运沉浮、悲欢离合、感情纠葛及矛盾冲突。描写了上一辈人及下一代儿女们的爱情故事。。影片最初的场景中，故事里的人物进入一个孩童的梦，试图通过寻找梦境中陌生且熟悉的记忆影像，回到童年。 影片以导演私人化的记忆出发，静态影像来自导演回到童年生活的村庄拍摄的图像和旧时胶片，透过梦境中记忆与当下互相渗透，从而探索“人”在心理层面如何处理创伤。。
